Jenna Marbles Interview With New York Times- Dishes on Dogs, Dating...and Dinner.

Jenna recently did an interview with the New York Times titled  "The Woman With 1 Billion Clicks, Jenna Marbles". Included was a video interview, with some pretty interesting tidbits. Below we have transcribed the dialogue for your magical reading pleasure.


Q: What Do You Do?

Jenna Marbles: I make magical YouTube videos on the Internet every week. They usually consist of whatever's on my mind or whatever silly, goofy, ridiculous thing I come up with then I put it into video format and upload it onto the Internet machine.

What is "Sexual Wednesday"?

"Sexual Wednesday" is the magical day when I upload my videos. I make a new video every Wednesday, so it just turned into Sexual Wednesday when I first started because I just like to get real sexual and weird and creepy with it....ya know?!

Who are Kermit and Marbles?

So this big silver unicorn, this is Kermit, and this little one is Marbles, and these are my dogs. They are mostly my only friends and we like to make videos together. (Talking to dogs) Marbles are you shy? Kermit's bored. Say "We don't want to do this! We want chicken!"

Why do they sometimes appear in your shirt?

Oh well it's mostly just Kermit, and Kermit likes to be in my shirt because he's an Italian Greyhound so he doesn't have much fur or body fat. So when I'm making my video he's usually somewhere near me clawing my leg just to let me know he wants to be in my shirt because he likes the body heat. He refuses to wear shirts or sweaters, he just stands there..like.. miserable so he likes to just be in my shirt. 

Why do so many people watch your videos? 

I have no idea why so many people watch my videos..uh..I'm alone.

Why are all your videos in your house?

I don't know....I don't really have anyone to hold a camera to me, but it does happen. I've made videos from other locations ...like the car. It's hard because I have to find someone wiling to hold the camera for a little bit while I do...stupid stuff.

What video are you most proud of?

I'm really proud of the drunk makeup tutorial video. Because that's a real life thing when you day drink and then you have to do your makeup and go out and...like rally. It captured the essence of how difficult it once you've been day drinking to try to put on a normal looking human face.  I'm very proud of that video even though you think I probably shouldn't...I am!

What are you going to do next?

I have no idea what I'm going to do next. I really like when people say I made them laugh today so I think next I'm going to continue making people feel a little less weird..maybe a little bit normal..and brightening their days on the Internet. I also have big plans of eating some dinner and watching 'Game of Thrones'. So...there's that.
